Hope at Home 2025

November 4, 2025

As the 2025 holiday season approaches, we are reaching out to our caring community to support local families and children in need. Economic challenges continue to strain many caregivers, making it difficult to provide for their families during this special time.
Together, we can brighten their holidays and restore hope.

Monetary Donations Make the Biggest Impact
While all contributions are deeply appreciated, monetary donations allow us to tailor support to each family’s unique needs. Your monetary donation helps us purchase gift cards that empower caregivers to choose the gifts, groceries, and essentials their
families need most. This flexibility provides immediate relief and restores dignity to those facing hardship. By prioritizing monetary donations, we can ensure that every family receives the right support.

Gift Cards: A Thoughtful, Flexible Option
Gift cards remain a key part of our campaign.
By donating cards in increments of $25, $50, or $100, you give families the opportunity to buy toys, clothing, and groceries that suit their children’s needs. Caregivers can choose gifts their children will love and purchase food for holiday meals, all while maintaining pride and autonomy. Gift cards from Walmart, Amazon, local grocery stores, and retailers are most in demand, as they provide easy access to essential items—especially for families without transportation.

How You Can Help
Your contribution will make a direct and meaningful impact on local families who are struggling this season. Here’s how you can get involved:

1. Make a Monetary Donation: Your financial gift enables us to purchase gift cards that meet the specific needs of each family.

2. Donate Gift Cards: Contribute gift cards from the stores mentioned above to support families with toys, clothes, groceries, and essentials.

Tax receipts will be provided for all donations over $10.

How to Donate
· Drop off gift cards or monetary donations at 99 Edward Street, St. Thomas, between 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, now through December 5, 2025.

· Place your donation in an envelope marked ATTN: Holiday Hope and include your name, email, and contact information so we can thank you and provide tax receipts.

· Cheques can be made payable to Family & Children’s Services of St. Thomas and Elgin.

We’d like to thank you in person!
We’d love to personally thank you for your generosity!

If you can pop in during our Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30 pm office hours, we’d love to say “thank you” and, with your permission, take a quick picture to post on our social media

Looking Back and Looking Ahead
Last year, with the incredible support of our community, we provided assistance to 126 families, helping over 270 children and youth. This year, the need is even greater, and with your support, we can bring hope and relief to even more families.  Together, we can make this holiday season brighter for those who need it most. Thank you for your unwavering support and generosity.
